Don’t miss out on this invaluable knowledge! Let’s embark on this journey together towards the secret language for successful brands!

A Highway Code to Body Language…

If only there was a Highway Code for communication… Being able to read body language is like having a permanent GPS system in operation whenever you’re interacting with someone!

If you don’t switch the GPS on when you’re travelling, then you’re missing key information to help get you where you want to go. Even if I know the roads and the route, my GPS keeps me up to date on what the traffic is doing.

It’s exactly the same with body language.

If you don’t notice the cues in people’s reactions as you interact with them, you’re missing vital signs – like where you might need to take a left, carry on, do a U-turn or even an emergency stop.

In conversation, that means looking for the signals that tell you to change the topic, ask different questions, press more on something or even just take a break.

Just like drivers learn the Highway Code and understand how to respond to road signs, you can do the exact same thing with body language and I can help you there.

Let’s start with some tips for your brand marketing and advertising images that involve you showing people. Here are some tips:

1. Neutral facial expressions used by a lot of models (particularly in fashion images) – Are a missed opportunity to connect emotionally with your consumer, AND your consumer perceives the emotion as miserable…

2. Mirror neurons affect emotions – Our mirror neurons fire when we experience an emotion and similarly when we see others experiencing an emotion, such as happiness, fear, anger, or sadness. When we see someone being sad, for example, our mirror neurons fire and that allows us to experience the same sadness and to feel empathy.

Sadness shown in the body language of models unless for the clear objective of state change for your consumer, is not ideal for them to connect to, or inspire them to buy.

3. Hands behind the back – This is often called the Royal Pose. It means hands off, don’t come any closer. Or it could mean the person has something to hide…

In some contexts, hands behind the back could be signalling openness but they’d need to be accompanied by a genuinely welcoming smile.

As a general rule of thumb, it’s best to show hands, as we trust people more when we can see their hands, rather than get the feeling that they’re hiding something when they hide their hands…

In summary, as brand marketers, it’s crucial to understand how facial expressions and body language can affect the way people perceive your brand or product.

By paying attention to these details, you can create more effective marketing campaigns and build stronger connections with your audience.

The subconscious effect of body language…

Subconscious behaviour is an incredibly fascinating topic, and there are many interesting things to learn about it. Here are some insights:

1. The subconscious mind processes information much faster than our conscious mind. Studies have shown that the brain can process up to 11 million bits of information per second, of which only about 50 bits make it to our conscious awareness. That means that much of our behaviour is driven by subconscious processing that we’re not even aware of.

2. Our subconscious mind is heavily influenced by our past experiences and beliefs. Our memories, emotions, and beliefs are stored in our subconscious mind and can influence our behaviour without us realising it. For example, if we had a traumatic experience in the past, we may have subconscious reactions to similar situations that trigger our emotional response.

3. Your subconscious mind is responsible for many of your habits and routines. Habits and routines are behaviours that we perform automatically, without conscious thought. They’re often formed through repetition and reinforced by rewards, and once established, they become hardwired into our subconscious mind.

4. The subconscious mind is highly suggestible. Hypnotists and advertisers have long known that our subconscious mind is more open to suggestions than our conscious mind. This is why subliminal messaging and other forms of subconscious persuasion can be so effective.

Importantly for brand marketers creating content images for advertising and marketing campaigns:

When you use body language that’s authentic and aligned with the desired emotional response in a brand campaign, it can have a powerful impact on the subconscious mind of your audience. This makes it easier for them to engage with your message and can lead to increased loyalty, trust, and a greater likelihood of making a purchase.

In other words, by using body language that conveys the desired emotions in a genuine and natural way, you can build a stronger connection with your audience. This connection is based on a deeper level of understanding and resonance, as opposed to just conveying information through fake body language or words.

By tapping into the subconscious mind through authentic body language, you create a more immersive and engaging experience for your consumer, which can translate into stronger brand recognition and customer loyalty. It also makes it easier for consumers to make buying decisions, as they feel a deeper connection and trust in the brand.

So, next time you’re crafting a brand campaign, remember that body language is a powerful tool that can help you connect with your audience on a deeper level and create more meaningful interactions.

Let’s make your communication journeys much easier and your marketing and advertising content images more engaging!

  • Costs start from £1,000 +VAT for analysis of your content images. There’s a sliding scale of economy depending on how many images you want the analysis of and a full report.
  • Attending a photo shoot to emotionally direct the models starts at £1,750 +VAT per day, this includes the selection of ideal photos in line with your emotional objectives.
