Happy Thursday! It’s been a while… Let’s dive straight in.
How authentic is your brand presence, either personally or for your business?
I’m passionate about showing up in life, business, and online as the real you. Now, I’m not talking about no makeup and hair, a mess type of real you, but the real you that looks and feels good, but it is you and not an edited, filtered, or fake version of you.
Creating Emotional Hooks
When selecting images for your brand or business’s marketing and advertising, do you consider emotional impact?
Many brands claim they use emotions to attract their audience, but the evidence of effective execution is scarce.
There’s a significant opportunity for brands to captivate consumers by conveying genuine emotions.
It’s not merely about inserting emotional words into your content; it’s about comprehending human emotions and their influence on viewers.
Understanding how emotions are expressed and their impact on the audience is crucial.
Which of the following 3 images do you think is going to be effective in engaging someone emotionally?

Original key visual in Marks & Spencer Manchester – Menswear

Each of the above key visuals shows a different emotion, and each emotion will have a different impact on the shoppers.
I launched late last year a pre-testing measurement to help brands decide which key visual is going to most resonate with their audience depending on their objectives: AssetsIQ
Here’s a complimentary sample for you to try out the process and receive analysis on one of your key visuals.
It’s a simple process:
1: Fill out this short form and upload your key visual
2: I analyse your key visual – 1 free test visual
3: I send you a one-page summary and an 11-page report
Body Language Tip!
Watch this short video with a tip on how to read other people’s body language.
Here are a few other ways to get good at noticing behaviour:
- Watch the news with the sound off for 5 minutes and just focus on behaviours, then rewatch with the sound on and not look at the screen – it’ll start to hone your listening and watching skills separately.
- Sit in a busy restaurant or train station, and for 10 minutes, just focus on the people around you and notice their behaviours. Look at couples; can you tell from their body language if they’re a couple or work colleagues? You’ll be surprised at what you pick up…
Rebranding of my Membership
Last week, in a business clarity session with a fab coach (@Deborahfielding), I realised the name of the membership wasn’t working…
The name was: The Intution & Body Language Membership
It is now: Body Language School
I think you’ll agree the new name is much simpler and does exactly what it says on the tin!

Networking and Talk
In March if you’re local to Birmingham, you may want to come to a great networking event with a great speaker, me!

That’s all for this edition, but I’ll be back soon.
